Hi Friends,
Great to be heading back to Wizard World Philly! I missed this show the last two years due to work conflicts so I'm super excited to be able to make it this time around.
Pick up your free KING RONOK & THUNDA postcards when you stop by my table # 2152 in Artist Alley!
See you there!

BLOODSHOT #13 VALIANT COMICS
Howdy Folks,
The comic book industry is going nuts over the greatness Valiant Comics is delivering on a consistent basis. So I thought I would join the fun and kick in with some behind the scenes goodness.
Here's a look at the progression of thumbnails for the cover to BLOODSHOT #13.
All of these comps are drawn on a Cintque Tablet in Photoshop and sent in for the consideration of
Mr. Valiant himself, Warren Simons.
Once a choice is made I then print out the comp onto a sheet of 11x17" zerox paper. The image is then light boxed onto Strathmore Bristol board or a heavy watercolor paper, then inked and toned with a mix of Higgins water proof inks, and in this case some Dr. PH Martins water color dye as well.
Any logos you see are temps just to give ye editor a clear idea of what the final image will look like.
I recall asking Mr. Simons if we could work some "curves" into this image at one point.
He said "Vegas", and we were cooking.
I can tell you these books are a fun, smart read too!
The conclusion of HARBINGER WARS promises to be this summers biggest comic book event!
Tell your LCS to add it to your pull list.
It's due out in July from Valiant Comics.
Check out the final cover here for BLOODSHOT #13.
Also, the July KickStarter for my graphic novel The SAVAGE BLADE of KING RONOK is fast approaching. Check out the production art blog FAR-OUT FICTION to see how it's shaping up.
Thanks for reading!

EL ZOMBO!
Hi Heroes,
Over the past few years I've seen some very cool art popping up all over the net by the talented Dave Wilkins.
I recently had the pleasure of meeting him, and I'm very happy to report, he's also a helluva nice fellow!
You have to check out his MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE covers from DC comics. His passion for the material is awesome.
When he's not art directing video games he's bringing undead life to his creator owner character
EL ZOMBO!
What or Who is EL ZOMBO? Here's how DW describes his grappling hunk:
"He's got Zombie powers he is undead, but he fights anything zombies demons monsters of all kinds and he gets the chicks even the evil undead ones ;)"
Sounds great!
You can check out the EL ZOMBO! goods here.
Wilkins and I recently decided to create pin-ups of each others respective characters. I'm looking forward to seeing what he comes up with for his KING RONOK piece. In the meanwhile, here's my end of the bargain.
I had a blast with it.
Hope you dig!

Will the real NICK FURY please stand up
I was pretty happy to be asked to create this cover for Marvel Comic's The ULTIMATES #21.
Like a kid on X-Mass morning happy.
What the hell is the OG Fury doing in the Sam Jackson/Ultimates Universe?
Ask Mark Paniccia when you see him.
Hope you guys dig it!
I'll post some process pics once this arrives at your local comic shops in Feb 2013.
Happy New Year!
One Mans Trash…..
A couple of years ago I moved from LA to NJ and in that process tossed out a ton of drawings.
These sketches were drawing and inking practice.
Some were studies of other artists which I did not credit in the drawing as I never intended them to be sold or distributed.
A poor fella must have dug these drawings out of the dumpster I left them in back in Van Nuys and wouldn't you know it, they ended up on ANTHONY's COMIC ART web site.
Now he's a nice fella, and I have no problem with him selling them and making $ on my work.
If however I am presented with, and asked to sign one of these drawings I will oblige ONLY if I think the drawing merits it.
Purchase it from him at your own risk.
I'm telling you this with Peace and Love, Peace and Love.
Thank you,
The Management
Now on with the good stuff.
